When the income generated by drivers supports 4.6 people on average in Rwanda, and 3.8 people in Kenya, savings with Ampersand Energy are truly life-changing. Petrol drivers can spend more than $11 per day on fuel and vehicle leasing costs, taking home as little as $1.60 per day. For most drivers, their boda costs are the biggest expense in their lives.
Ampersand Energy's solution is designed with drivers in mind. Our model is an EV energy network that costs less, reliable and outperforms petrol. Battery swaps are faster than refuelling, cost less, and take the driver further.
Ampersand Energy's e-motos cost the same as petrol motorcycles to buy and finance, and half as much to power, meaning that by switching to electric customers can increase their take home pay by 45%

OUR TECHNOLOGY
Ampersand Energy's system was developed with and for African Drivers.
We outperform the competition with a fully integrated network: purpose-built electric motorcycles, durable battery packs, swap stations, and our proprietary AmperOps fleet management software.
The company’s in-house team developed the first production lithium iron phosphate motorbike battery in the world – delivering low cost per kilometer, high durability, variable charging speeds, and reliable safety.
AmperOps uses predictive AI to optimise the lifespan of the batteries. 50 data points, including speed, capacity, and direction of travel are transmitted from the batteries every 5 seconds. This means healthier, longer lasting, more functional batteries, less e-waste, and less chance of issues for the drivers.
